RBPCDC has a long-term systemic approach to creating assets and affordable housing. After the major damage and floods of hurricanes Fran and Floyd, affordable housing inventory was significantly impacted. Working with community leaders RBPCDC instigated the development of both Faith Estates and Harris Estates projects. Through financial literacy, credit counseling, pre and post homeownership counseling, and financial assistance through various partnerships, we have helped over 60 families achieve the dream of home ownership.
Further, affordable rental inventory for senior citizens was also impacted and RBPCDC partnered with National Benevolent Association (NBA) Disciples of Christ to develop Greenleaf Grace Village to provide 41 safe housing units for senior citizens.
Faith Estates is home to our 16 Single-Family home lots for low and moderate-income persons has 6 lots remaining.
Greenleaf Grace Village is our Section 202 Supportive Housing for the Elderly and provides 41 apartments for low to moderate income senior citizens at 30% of income. The complex is consistently at full capacity with a lengthy wait list.
